Saugus Speedway

While this iconic Client unfortunately no longer races stock cars, the property is still in full operation for its Swap Meet events, as well as a multitude of other special events and filming.  The aged electrical systems are a challenge requiring maintenance and repair on a regular basis.  The grandstands, built during the 1950’s, were damaged beyond repair in the 1994 Northridge earthquake and stood unused on prime real estate.  The existing overhead electrical system was attached to the bottom of the grandstands when built, which prevented the client from removing the grandstands.

CORElectric designed and implemented the multi-step electrical distribution retrofit necessary to underground the aged overhead system.  Saugus Speedway continued its swap meet operations three days a week, with no interruption of power, while the retrofit was underway.  Those portions of the grandstands have been removed, making way for future events.
